Several people have been claiming the forum has been getting boring, apparently because of the lack of any recent calamities to bring us together. As such, I am suggesting we create one. Should we make a new account, call it Mololopoy (or something), and make it Site Owner rank, then post threatening messages with it via a proxy? Maybe have Listo pull another Melted Metal? Create a fake account to spam and then 'ban' creatively? It would certainly solve the "boring" problem.

...which is why this thread was made. We haven't had a decent disaster in ages.

Is this how we would solve our problems, by inventing disasters? Let's assume we all covertly agree to this and we set everything up. Let's assume we successfully execute this disaster and let it rage until we heroically eliminate it. For a few weeks, maybe even more than a month, the forums are no longer boring.
After those few weeks or so, the forums supposedly get boring again. We have to invent another disaster again. A few weeks after the disaster, the forums get boring yet again and we have to create another disaster yet again. A pattern develops.
Even assuming that everyone is stupid enough not to catch on after the third time or so, or assuming that we vary how often we do it just enough to keep it often without hinting to other members, we would have to rely on this as being our means of keeping the forums "not boring." Not only that, but we would get a bad reputation for being an easily compromised or very untrustworthy site. Nobody sane would go to a site that was knowingly compromised.
Naturally, I assume we all know the consequences of getting caught, too. If we have to keep inventing disasters, we lose. If we are caught, we lose. If it fails altogether, we lose. It's a lose-lose-lose situation.
If you can indicate where the "win" is while keeping in mind the long-term effects, and it seems convincing enough, I might buy into this. Convince me, or we will not do this.

It would work the first time until we manage t come up with another method. This isn't meant to be permanent. Anyway, even if we ARE revealed, we would only have been trying to make the forums interesting in a non-lethal way, and they can't exactly hate us TOO much for that. It is, after all, what they are asking for.

Wow... I can't help but burst out laughing at this idea... You guys really are desperate, aren't you? Wow... Just wow... Instead of using this kind of stupidity to make the forum "less boring", why not do something worthwhile that actually contributes to the site? I mean, come on, are you serious? Anything but this... Lol...

Well, I can understand why we would want to do it, you know, as a security drill of sorts. But using just to keep people entertained? That's just wrong! Are we really that incompetent that we have to fabricate these little mishaps just to keep the people interested??? We can't stoop to that level.

Well then we have to go about restoring interest in a constructive way. We need to make more contests, advertise more, etc.
In fact, I think I'll make a thread tomorrow in the staff lounge about restoring interest.

TSL, we've tried all those and they failed. At least I advertise, as opposed to just about everyone else here. There's no contests that haven't already been done, except those 10K dan-ball contests which are unlikely to ever be judged, or contest ideas that have been rejected. Everyone talks about advertising, but why is it I'm the only one to actually follow through? Anyway, by the time we actually gained any members OR interest, they would have already left. We can't keep a big-forum mentality when we are losing old members: That's what killed the FSGF.
Look, it may be a temporary fix and it may be stooping low, but you can't say it doesn't work.

Fine. Advertising would bring new members, but I guess maybe this can be useful for keeping current members here.

We sorta need to know what we are going to do first.
Should we make the account? Then, a bit later, make it site owner rank? Then wait a bit more? Stretch it out a bit?

Alright, I'll go do that now. I'll name it... "mololopoy". The password is "[CLASSIFIED]". It has begun, but we can't just have the account sit there. We need it to act like it's actually doing things, eg, changing the background, the news fader, posting threatening language in "molopoyspeak" (bad spelling, punctuation, etc), which we can do in the form of a few threads like this one, or, more suitably, THIS one. Naturally, all of the damage should be easily fixed. Keep in mind this is the upper extreme and we don't have to get anywhere near it. Anyone know a suitable proxy? Also, we need to alert Listo about this so he doesn't think molopoy got into my account again. I assure you my password is far beyond that point. Also... If things MUST be taken to the extreme... we pretend to redo livetrack? Nah, that's just too far. Also, a chat account, just don't PC people with it. Username: MoIopoyLovesPie (note the I) Password: [ALSO CLASSIFIED] Also, for discussion, [CLASSIFIED AGAIN]. Don't use it if anyone is on that can't prove we know them from here. It's the most secure method.
