*edit* These is my PLAN, as of now I'm not releasing anything, nor will I be one "who develops SR". Don't advertise with this anywhere and don't hate me if I back out of it.
IMO there haven't been so many big updates in the past so I plan to take it into my own hands. I plan to release an addon for SR. It will probably be realized via Greasemonkey, perhaps I will figure out a solution for non-Firefox users.
What I can do:
All I can do is change the savegame - all of it. I could give exp, gold, change the distribution of your SPs, give items, change the player location and the books. (If I didn't forget something.)
I won't use most of these features. What is planned at first is a marketplace. You put an item up there and others can buy it for Gold. There are some rules to it:
1) You can only register one team with my server, so only one of your teams has access to the marketplace
2) Once on the marketplace, you can't buy it back or stop the selling
3) The item will be for sale after an undefined time you put it up (So you can't use a friend to store your stuff and later get it back from him without the risk of loosing your items).
4) You can set a custom price. It will be up for a week, after that its thrown away.
5) The market will keep 10% of your revenue.
6) You can never load an old save and participate with that on the marketplace.
7) Some items may not be traded at all.
8) I will probably keep a close eye on your save.
9) The market will probably only be accessible in the village.
*edit* 10) You won't be able to buy stuff with a lv higher than your rank (the vs rank thingie) or so.
Like I said, its realized via Greasemonkey, so the interface will be above the main applet (or below). Everytime you do something on the marketplace, the browser will receive a new savegame and push it to the game, so you will be back at the main screen with the changed game - I can't change that.
There is still some technical stuff I have to think about, but unless someone has a very brilliant idea, I'm not interested in changes to the basic system.
Future thinks I could do are small quests. Like kill the castle boss 3 times and receive 10k gold extra. Or buy the book of GL3 and get another reward. Or bring me a Vampires Card v3 and you can exchange two of your stat points.
The quests will be a bit harder to do, as they require a higher level of interaction with the server (I can only know if you killed someone by looking at your exp value, so I would have to get your save every time you change the screen...)
The expected timeframe is from 3 Weeks to "when its done".
