My idea is that these "talismans" would give a physical weapon the atributes of another element like thunder. for example, for the poison talisman: +1s poison damage (1-2) the weapon would gain the unmodified stats of a weapon with that element. All talismans would be counted as the same compo item, so you wouldn't be able to put two different talismans on the same weapon. Talismans would be restricted to physical weapons.
Poison Talisman 1: +1s poison damage (1-2) Thunder Talisman 1: +1-29 thunder damage Ice Talisman 1: slow 30% (0-0) Fire Talisman 1: +5-6 fire damage Freeze Talisman 1: +1s freeze time

Would there be an MP requirement to activate the effects of Talismans equipped to a physical weapon?

there wouldn't, and the magic effect would be determined by the AT, AGI, and Range of the weapon.
