Well, never have a team with two gunners that begin using the handgun early in the game. I got stuck, even after selling all I had and losing both gunners and a priest. I'm sticking with my original 2-magician + sniper + priest team...

I just agree with one of the possibly "smarter" members of the community who said that the whole gunner, desperado thing kinda took away from the whole feel of this RPG being a medieval game. However, I do love the whole thing, as SR players can laugh at the jealous PG players as we happily fire our very expensive guns. You are aware that gunpowder had been found (okay, snaffled off the Chinese) during the late medieval times. Guns in a swords-and-magic environment is plausible. A submachinegun's a little hard to believe though. But guns were around by then.

I'm sticking with my original 2-magician + sniper + priest team... I've only been playing around with the gunner for 10ish minutes and I can already tell you to NEVER sell your first guns until you find another gun that's totally free. Money will be a large issue with any team that has a gunner and you always need something to fall back on. Also, when you're fighting enemies that can't hit you, use the normal guns to save money. (OS, hill country 1, the forest levels, ect) I'm looking froward to a sniper rifle, elemental gun, or an AOE gun.

I KNEW IT! THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE THE CLASSES I SUGGESTED! So yeah, I was thinking that it should have been called gunMAN. oh well, I also wanted it to wield 2 guns, like boxer holding two gloves. I did not expect the shots to cost money, how lame. :/ I Predict that on V.4.6, They will add, NINJA! So yah, I am also ashamed that this class has only 4 weapons right now... Oh and, does STR increase = Higher Range?

I've thought of reasons why the guns use money per shot.
The guns require ammo, and unlike arrows, bullets are difficult to make. The more complicated the gun, the more complicated the bullet type is, and the more expensive it'll be to make ammo. The higher a Gunner's Mag is, the easier they'll find it to make bullets. The exception to this is the basic Gun, which is free to use. My reasoning is the basic gun is an Airsoft or BB gun. Ammo is incredibly easy to make, and there's no need for an explosive propellant, so you just need the basic bullet (no casing to hold propellant).
Shotgun shells have a spread capability (many pellets per round) so it's much more expensive to make ammo for the shotgun. The submachine gun uses the same ammo as the Handgun, so it costs the same.

Um, I'm not...
Anyways, What does STR increase do to Gunner?

STR will increase the Gunner's Atk, but you need a load of points in the STR stat before it'll go up by one.

Oh well, I'll just stick with increasing its DEX

A little something I've noticed. If there's an enemy above the Gunner, he's very reluctant to shoot it until it gets well into the range bubble. Maybe I just noticed it cause it was in the air. It's probably the same for ground enemies too.

Hmm, it seems gunner is the most fastest hitter in the GAME! If you increase its DEX to about 20, add a Green stone to its Sub Machine Gun and presto, it shoots like an orange tree. For some reason, I don't find the Shotgun very useful. :/ There should be a rocket Launcher! It fires a bullet 4x a regular one and it homes on enemies like the lake boss, but it takes 3 seconds to reload.

I'm finding the shotgun to be very useful. Six pellets with an attack range of 1-20, and it only costs $5. The submachine-gun costs too much (rapid-fire's cool, but costly!)

But I could get more than enough money to pay back all of those lost by the end of a level, basically, the ammo is your money.

The AGI of the gunner with a submachine gun don't go below of 5-10.... What do you do witch your SP when you have 20MP and 14AGI There's nothing to do.

Keep putting the points into DEX/MAG. There's inevitabely going to be more guns that cost more to use. PLAN FOR THAH FUTARH!
Anyone wanting to see a gun rant of mine, go to the SR Comments page.

Y'know, I think I've wanted a gunner since the beginning. Ever since I started playing, I've thought now and again about guns in SR. And now, voila, here it is!
However, using up money for bullets is a strange choice...

I think it's for balance. Just up his MAG by 20 or so and the next few guns won't sap your cash.

Currently doing a 4 Gunner game
holy god. Level 13 and stuck on Grasslands 2.
Prepare to farm Opening Street for a LOOOOOOONG time for money to supply your weapons.
I've been going with only 4 magic since I expected to use 4x SMG+Critical Card+ATK+1~3 or Gold Medal to keep my money supply from running out, but I think 4x shotgun might be better X:

The shotgun is incredibly superior to the SMG in all but cost. Add enough MAG/DEX though, and they'll be shooting $1-shotgun blasts at a relatively quick pace.
And never sell the starting guns. They're the only 2-slot basic guns in the game, sh attach stuff to them as back-ups.

My philosophy on guns: Gun: best used when you want to save money. Hgun:use when you don't care if you lose a small amount of gold. smg: best when you want something dead fast ex. boss snake sawed-off: best for groups of flying enemies Gold cost: before each level you rent a bunch of each type of ammo, as well as some metal for making new bullets. The higher your mag the less metal you need to make a bullet. Snipe: high range, low agility, fast bullets, moderate damage and cost.A pistol with a pink barrel? flame thrower: a pistol with a red barrel? It has low agility and high cost, but like blizzard it shoots a bunch of fires for a while. It is fire type. Plasma rifle: thunder type gun. Shoots a beam that can go through enemies. Bazooka: very high cost, low agility, high damage, explosion gun. Pistol with a green barrel?
