does any of the laser tech use any air creating thing?

C4 is quite common for some switches (destroying stone) and almost every display use it... wood was also used for it's fixed position and possibility to remove it by laser.

But can't we do something else, by now, with the new technology?

if I know what type of switch your talking about, cant you just use a cancelation tube (a and not b) and cant glass be charged in place of c4?

Too bad we don't have any element(this excludes wall) that is resistant to virus/virus ball.

It appears that i have made a gate resembling a tristate buffer. Although lacking in a "Hi-Z" state It functions much in the same way as the aforementioned buffer would, although the switching action is inverted. Where as, a 0 would prevent any signal from getting through in the regular buffer. A 1 shall do the same in mine.
The logic table is as follows. A | B | Output | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
I am not sure if this has been discovered before or if it has an immediate use. However, in this capacity is functions as a switch. Disallowing an output in the event that A is 1 and allowing an output in the event that A is 0.
It does have it's faults, A must have a very rapid input consistency and it does release one segment of laser after you stop inputting 1 in to A. Also, A(1) gets blocked in the event that B(1) overly rapid. Hover at the expenditure of space all of these can be corrected.

Trivially, if you take out all of the glass it functions as an OR gate. However, it is larger then the one we currently implement so it is not at all helpful.

I call it "A AND NOT B" as in, it will be true only if A is true and B isn't(and not the other way around). This gate is pretty much "B AND NOT A"

B AND Not A; thank you, I was having a bit of trouble figuring out what to call it. On a similar note, I was also having trouble finding the current standard AND gate, other then the large lighting based ones. Like the one's found here: If you want to get something complex, here you have a Full Adder: 0022000000100*02102*01*03*06*05*01w00q00004000v00u01u0B*0200Du0F00Cv0E10E00Ku0J*0Hv0Lu0G*0Bv0Q00N10M*0Pu0O*0Su0X00I10V*0Y10b00au0R00e00Uu0fv0T*0W10dv0j*0cu0iu0Zv0m00g*0ku0o10lu0pu0v10u10do00T00o0BT0.00.u0ZT10p0zo0Bn0qq00n0z018o00t0Zq17T0*00.t0Zr1C000p1A10dT0Bo19T15u1200.T1KT0ST0Bt18*00s1No1L00ET1Q000.1T11J01O01bu18v18.1Zu0fT1P01bt14018T0.S1jm1Iu1g01bo18t0zc1H00zr0Bm1n00CT1ho1qT00c1sc0A017t1UT1ht1rp1r01bn1v*0HT1xT1RT1zp23T15t0Zp1k00DT2AT1Kc18n26*0Bp2Ev2Bc1HT2C10dz1kc2Nc1hn2J000r18u18c2Rp2It0Zs2VT2G00.c2Y10dp18s18q1rt2du0fq2gT0Br1jo1jT1Kt2DT0B.2k02010bT10q1ko00S1jq2rp1es0XT1zr1kr0By1Ss2.c2UT2A002t33r24o1et37T2b.2JT2*T2HT2qt3Ac2N01Yt3G01b.3Cc34c3H.3Lr19c3912tc3Mp3Qu0Sy18r2Rr38T3F10Mv00y3Vp1rr2B01W02Ut0Jv3aT0Go2no0*c3402cT2903Ho1vv3h01Yo1jp0zp1zv18w18p3py2Vo18y2n01pT1Dz3xT2lo2Eq1Go1dT0Bq4100Ao3wn1ST2lt3gy1eo1Vo1Vs3.T10T1lT13t0Jm00w01q1702Un4DT2803Hp2Qr3001Ht4Kw4Mn2ln4P03*00AT1Do3cT35s1vm4L10An4XT2qo4ET1Qc3M01br4ew4W04OT4iT4Qv4cc3Hr4n14ay4M04p03rT4rT3D03m04Go2wT10w1f000m4fq0zy4wr1G.4Zo45c3ST3kp0*r0Bw53m55T3a11*r58o4j02Fc4lo2Qp0Bc1*x5Fw4MT5Hq4h04y04Zv4sp5NT1z01bx5Q14aq3gn18m3HT0Bx4c04*T2Gc3Hx5aq0zq5cT1up2Ex5WT5CT3E000x5kT0A13Zn1Sp3Dc1hT5ip18x5tq4Kq45000z5p02M05Zs4V15b11*z1Gr5ZT1XT5Or3PT5qc5js66q5l11*t4a03ev2Qv5X04*x5*168n3yT5ET6Ro4bT4Ho3kt5.s6GT5uq15s2fT4Hp0*o5fs6Xq4wv0092Kn19q5.t6e11**3ly4uq6Hq0Bz1Gs1bw1eT6pt6kq2lq2a03an5dt6u062n2go2ao46T6cS3sT2qT2Ou1uw5Rq4wp6Jt5gT2U01bq1Gy6Oq6pn19o3vT5xp0Sn18z7E017q5Ar3X050014S1ju4uy7FT1uo3zT7IT3kr4Tu7S002p5.T4.o1zT7XT35x7Zz1Gz1Oc5B04s06rt66y7T062o7ko4ST2bw47z7ir3dT7cc3vt4CT6po5go7d063w7so63T5x07l13Zy7Ko7pT7ec3Hw80T7W07zc7w184T7yT7vT87p8Cu3UT8Ec2F08604Lt7x07oT4H01Oo6c07*t8Nr1by6ac3lo7.w47s6rT29c8Kw47p8UT0Bu4Gp8Rw47q8Z01Yu8Nn8Un1St8No6rn5du3g.3zn2Iu0Jw1YT5En19u0wu0tu8y01Y*00P0BP0SP9000.P92s1v.02P92v8*098o98P0Bs95*9A00DP92o9Ds9CP97P9FP94t0J.96098v9Do9Gt8x00h08.P1sv8*p1KP1ss2Tv0qv9Yu9Q*0s09R*9b*9d*0n09Rs62T15x0Js9h017x9jz2Ix9mT9i10Ms9kn5s19qz9n19tT9pu31w4os1Gn9su9x14g01Tn9uu9*q4Ns9zx0Jy55n9BnA203aw5Ry4wsA510My5GyACnA9yAF11*sADuA3T5S0A1T9w0AA167u8vTAOy5Gq8tnAHw7710MwAK0APq6HuAR09l1AEwAWq2qnAV167q8eq1quA6wAe01Yn6Q00EuAk1Ah00Ar6j1Ad1Aqu6g04xq3Hy1vyAT11*v3lsAywAl.1Gv3HtB01Aq.AYyAzqAfTASwB1nAgq6o0AmTB91B5nAgyB80Acu9*yBHn9.0APyBKxApyBN19v0BI01TzA9s9rx9o0BRsBU1BQnBLsBXu9BzBTzBcTAOsBa0BSTBezBd0BWzA9*9e00r*9f*Blv9Z10xu8z*Bou9a*Bn*Bu0Bm0BwvBpuBr*BvvBy09c*B.uBt0BxuC2vB**Bs1Bq0C00C31C7*C6uBz0C9uCCvC5*C11CA*CGuCEuC4uCK1CH0CD0C8vCF0CN*CB0COuCLuCJ1CMvCPvCWuCT0CS1CVuCY*CR*Cc*CI0CZuCUuCg0Cf0Ci*Cd0CQ*Ce*0k*071041Cp*Cow0A0mB3 So if someone could advise me as to where I might find the Code I would be obliged. Invert two inputs with tubes and pass both through a constantly powered tube as the blocking lasers. That gives you an AND.

Tubes have regulated reliability - longer the better. But are quite big...
Your is quite good, but it can make infinite loop and block for quite long time the light...
With this configuration, it have 4 dots of laser in the way of light, and without infinite loop.

I didn't understand any of that Miczu...
Oh, and by the way, tubes only need to be 9px long if the blocking laser goes against the zig-zag Laser, this is the standard... I know this so well because I was the one who invented this standard. I took a reliable power source, and made it so that it powered both the zig-zag and blocking lasers of several tubes of different lengths. I put C4 in the path of any laser that may escape from a tube. I ran the simulation for 6 hours. The shortest tube which did not fail was 9px long...

With the new abilities mercury gives us (namely clocked electronics), tubes may not ever be needed again.

But really, you obviously don't understand what tubes do if you are saying that... They are the only reliable method of performing not functions and NCR functions. Really dude, you can't live without em'.

Post by izacque on May 7, 2010 22:03:55 GMT -5
you do realize that with completely non-random input, the concept of tubes is not needed. the reason tubes need to be 9 pixels in lenght is because due to the random nature of laser creation (before mercury), the canceling beam (the one that kills the bouncing one) can arive a frame too late and instead of blocking the metal bounce point, it splits the bouncing beam into two beams. A tube of 9 pixels or longer may split the beam a couple of times, but it's length coupled with the fact that a laser moving straight travels faster than a laser bouncing in a 2p tube ensures that any new lasers will also be squelched. Now that 100% reliable clock mechanisms can be made, simple NOT functions can be made that involve merely one boince point. The cancelling beam will always be able to block the bounce point before the other beam reaches it. I'm not saying that the underlying concepts of tubes will be done away with (the ability to block the bounce point of one laser with another laser), but the whole construction and, by it's new form, the name also will not be needed anymore.
So, maybe accusing me of not understanding tubes was not the best idea?

somehow I doubt that the mercury clock is completely predictable... and even if it did have a really high accuracy, I would think 2 bounces would be good, just in case(assuming room wand dots were plentiful)

Post by izacque on May 8, 2010 14:48:05 GMT -5
the mercury clock is completely predictable because laser speed is constant as long as it has traveled less than 4 pixels in air without bouncing. the laser clock has its bounce points close enough for the speed of the laser to be constant and therefor the rate of output. one thing that does plague mercury is a glitch that makes it refuse to move sometimes.

I have improved on my AND gate, by making it smaller and preventing an infinite loop. Although some looping is still prevalent along with the laser doubling up in the chamber, as this allows for a slower input thus improving accuracy
0030000000000*02002*01*03*06*05*0800400A*0700B*09*0C*0F*0E*0H00D00J*0G00K*0I*0L*0O*0N*0Q00M00S*0P00T*0R*0U*0X*0W*0Z00V00b*0Y00c*0a*0d*0g*0f*0i00e00k*0h00l*0j*0m*0p*0o*0r00n00t*0q00u*0s*0v*0y*0x*01s00s00P01P00T11o13P00o00c1100As00u18T01S01o13c16P09s1AT12013o01c00p18*03s1H01Bo1Kp1M*0*u11T1DT17r1R010u11p01T16017p1Ws1AP1L01F01bP1Gu14T01q1Eo1cu1YT1iP17o1lP10T11c1f*1Nu11v17P0.00w01x*0z01y*1w*1z*20*1**2201.024*21025*23*26*29*28*2B02702D*2A02E*2C*2F*2Fr00tlK7
Also, if you would be so kind as to demonstrate an AND gate composed of tubes i would appreciate it. I would like to compare the size and reliability of these two current alternatives. Understandably the tubes would be much smaller; however, allowing for the need of a NOT gate which would, considering the current NOT gates, increase it's size considerably.
Although I am not sure I am up to date on NOT gates. A assume it would be a tube with one constant emitter; this being either a virus ball, clone, or a Clock Mechanism. All of which are very large.

I dunno if anyone did it before me, but I created a one-time multiple switch without air emission using glass, mercury and ice. It's pretty simple technology, but it can function as programmable ROM.
