I remember someone talking about a NOT gate earlier in the thread. Is there any real reliable one that works well?
Yes, that's easy, for both laser and metal. Edit: Woops I accidentally pressed modify instead of quote. Sorry.

didn't i already tell memzak how to fix his java?
And by the way. I play runescape...
I like to plan, research, and prepare large projects. My biggest and most recent is 513 (or so) bronze bars. Mined, smelted (currently doing that, finished mining today), and smithed. Completely skipping Iron, because it is un reliable.
Back to PG. I want to mention something, but i forgot what it was, so it doesn't matter anymore.

I remember someone talking about a NOT gate earlier in the thread. Is there any real reliable one that works well? Yeah, as long as the signal you're inputting isn't too weak. Here. 0030000000100*02102*01*03*06*05*01w00q00004000v00u01u0B*0200Du0F00Cv0E10E00Ku0J*0Hv0Lu0G*0Bv0Q00N10M*0Pu0O*0Su0X00I10V*0Y10b00au0R00e00Uu0fv0T*0W10dv0j*0cu0iu0Zv0m00g*0ku0o10lu0pu0v10u10xu0tu0z00h00**0s010*0n01200r*13*11*17*16*1901501Bv0qv1Du0wu0.*1801Cu1F014v1E10y01Ku1J*1Hv1Lu1G*1Av1Q01N11M*1Pu1O*1Su1X01I11V*1Y11b01au1R01e01Uu1fv1T*1W11dv1j*1cu1iu1Zv1m01g*1ku1o11lu1pu1v11u11xu1tu1z01h01**1s020*1n02201r*23*21*27*26*2902502Bv1qv2Du1wu1.*2802Cu2F024v2E11y02Ku2J*2Hv2Lu2G*2Av2Q02N12M*2Pu2O*2Su2Jn00y00T0Bq2bt0Bx00x0Jm2aT0Bt2a10Mq2fT2eT0Bp2b02d02fx0Jp2l000m00n2op2ju2ny2bo2x10Mp2h00Ay2rx2om2uT2zu2cx2vz0Jx0ET00z2u02sm33000p2w02fu2ot3DT2cy0Jv38s0BT3D02bp3Lp3Lo3Lv2m02tn2vy3Ju2oT00o3L03V03YT3XT3W02bS00t2oy2ou2ow3Ev3800AT3a03Z02oo3VS3WE3WS3H02lu3Xt3T10M.3iT3kT3wo3LS3dT3Ro00X2nT0Bu2oq3E.3v03lT3ko3ct2ox2oX00E3*03WT3sT34000.44T3w03Vo3yt48T0Bo3*o4LT4N000w43u4503lo3Vv3Rq4MT4D03Dy0J.4G04RT3bv4K00AX4C03iq4QT4HT4Ho2bv2mo3Lr4Wp4g04a03Vq0Bz3Cw4gp3O03N04ut3C*3tu0Br2sz42y2X02I12V*2Y151050u2R05402Uu55v2T*2W153v59*52u58u4*v5C056*5Au5E15Bu5Fu0w*0710415O*5Nw0A0kG0I'm currently stumped on a xor gate though.

wait, doesn't a NOT gate only work if there are no inputs?

Post by ~Memzak~ on Dec 26, 2008 15:31:26 GMT -5
I think so..
but then again, i'm not to good with gates....

How will it work??? A not gate requires no inputs to function, and an input wil shut it off!!!

wait, doesn't a NOT gate only work if there are no inputs? It's only ON if there its input isn't. The whole point of it is to invert the signal coming in. Yes an input will shut it off, but that's the whole point of it. Inversion, and trust me, inversion is useful.

Hmm....OH
Now I get it....sort of...
But how do you invert 2 inputs into 1?
wait...ios this correct?
NOT: 00 1 01 0 10 0 11 0

|
|
Post by noodlesoup on Dec 26, 2008 21:45:45 GMT -5
NOT is:
0 1 1 0
NOR is:
00 1 01 0 10 0 11 0
Not only has 1 input.

Post by Sandmaster on Dec 26, 2008 21:48:01 GMT -5
OH!
NOT is a 1 INPUT!
I always think of logic gates as 2 input!

NOT is the one exception. But lets get back to the topic. XORs.
|
|
|
Post by Sandmaster on Dec 26, 2008 22:13:15 GMT -5
XOR is
00 0 01 1 10 1 11 0
right?

Post by noodlesoup on Dec 26, 2008 22:49:16 GMT -5
Yeah.

|
Post by Sandmaster on Dec 26, 2008 22:59:49 GMT -5
OK
so if 2 lasers intersetc, then they will vanish. Isn't it simple with laser logic gates?
|
|
|
Post by noodlesoup on Dec 26, 2008 23:03:37 GMT -5
Intersect? Head on collision.
The bad part is you have to get the 2 inputs to be the same strength. Which is why we cant rely on the canceling method.

I thought lazers straightened out to a constant length

You would need really big batteries to do that.
