'kay, so the search thing only lets you search 4-letter-or-longer words, so I can't search XOR in the logic gate thread. And since it's so long...
Yeah. So does anyone know if anyone made a XOR gate that works 100% of the time?

I made one with a combo of Nand's and I think some other stuff. Let me search the logic gate thread because I think one's in there. I'll edit this post when I get back.
Ok, back. I didn't find a XOR gate in any of the pages there. I did make one out of other gates though, if you want to see.
Eh, I did it anyways. Thing is, it's not on/off-able, so only one use. And it is pretty big, so I suggest you use it on an upload that only needs a couple of them.

Well, maybe it can be improved. I'll check it out. I probably won't get anywhere with it, though.
Maybe I will.

currently i only need AND gates for my small work

Thanks.
I'm trying to make a full adder. (see wikipedia)
I think I could make a 99% working one with NORs. (wikipedia rocks)

That's funny, I just bookmarked a page on wiki that showed you how to make any gate using nor combos. They're good 'cuz they aren't single use, unless you string a bunch together and put a bunch of batteries between them to strengthen the flow so it goes through.. An element that would strengthen the flow of electric into it would be good..We probably wont ever get one until like a few years though. Also... A full adder adds binary to get an answer in binary eh? I'm trying to make a binary to decimal converter. I did one in LogicSim pretty easily, and I tried making one in powder game, but it didn't work. I mean, the gate design was perfect and all, but the thing is, the flow of electric got so weak by the time it reached the inverters, that it didn't change the output. So then there were multiple numbers being brought up and it was over. Now, there's an easy solution to that, and it's to add some batteries right behind the inverters so when the weak flow hits them, it'll become stronger and work out. But that's not all. I'm going to need something at the end of the converter to absorb the flow for a certain amount of time before letting it out, so when the answer is 3 in the adder behind it, the converter wont get one(11 <-binary 3) of the ones before the other and say 'hey, 10 is 2! Time to send electric to the 2 output where there isn't anything to absorb the flow while the second one gets here!' If you know what I mean...

I still think wireworlds is our best logic-gate source...it's practically a thunder/metal only program

I haven't seen wireoworlds, but I don't doubt it. Good luck on that Adder, cuckooman!
Well, we've made all of them now, haven't we?

And, yeah. Nand, yeah. Nor, yeah. Not, yeah. Xor, uh huh. Xnor, yes. Or, yup.
We made all of 'em. Now all we can do is improve them. Like making them work like the and gate that uses powder. It never permanently turns on or off. We can also start making other things in electronics.

Yep. Time to get extremely complex. Now to start combining Logic Gates into complex wirings, and of course improve the gates made. (This is post #400 for me. Don't laugh, MT)

Improve=Make Smaller
...Right?

That's part of it. Something else that can be improved is on/off-ability. Like the AND gates in my first calc. You put in one input, and it's off. Two inputs, then it turns on. Turn off an input, and it turns back off. That isn't the case with the AND gates in my newest calc. When one input is on, the output is off. When both are on, the output turns on. When you turn off the input that destroyed the C-4, it stays on.
It's a problem that matters too. When you try to put a xor gate in an adder that isn't on/off-able, it can go wrong... Luckily the NOR is on/off-able, so it can still be made.

making it smaller is most important second is making it predictable (1 thunder per secone or something)

And making it so that it works 100% of the time. Otherwise, it is useless.

What?? I think on/off-ability is one of the highest priorities. Small is another one, but only before it gets under about...15x15. Then it loses some importance.

I don't know....you guys were pretty worried about size with the smalest guns and stuff

Well, guns are different...
On/off-ability would make things like a calc be able to be used more than once. I'd like to see a liquid that changes colors or brightens when touching electricity. Would be really interesting.

It is true that they are different. I think using logic gates to start a logic gate system (so you have 4 numbers. they go to 2 logic gates. Now that gate works specifically with the second gate so that there is a different result with every number.

I see what you mean. It sounds like how an adder does it.

Mt, I think you should make a guide to logic gates (and maybe even how to make a simple calc) and post it here, 'Cuz I don't even know what half the gates are.
