Exactly. So bacteria may have survived a massive impact, even been on the asteroid/comet/whatever that hit, and they could have evolved to the conditions and turned into mankind. *runs off to Smithsonian*

I don't think Humans are related to squirrels. If we ever had been. evolution would have taken a good extra billion years to make us bigger, and less... "squirrely"

Bacteria ----> Multi-Cellular Oragnisms ----> Fish ----> Monkeys ----> Homosapians (Humans)
