How do you think man came to be? Do you think that man: *Evolved from ancient primates *Was designed by a higher being * Was placed on Earth by aliens Let's hear [glow=red,2,300]your [/glow]opinion!

Technically, there is a possibility that an earlier life from (this is the 3rd generation of stars, I believe), a microorganism designed by pure chance in space (since the earth existed for about a quarter of the time between now and the Big Bang). After landing on earth via comet (which were frequently impacting the planet), it slowly evolved into multicellular organisms, and then into man.

Interesting... Always is that possibility. There are creatures that can survive in space.
As for actually being placed here... that is unlikely... right?

Bob Lazaar says he worked at Area 51. He says he encountered extraterrestrials several times while he was there. He was told to read old files to catch up with the times and one of the files allegedly stated that we were un-intelligent mammals until the aliens reconfigured our DNA and genetic code over 40 times. According to Bob Lazaar, we were made the way we are by aliens. But i don't believe it.
*Nods head in disbelief*

Area 51 is a whole load of crap. I think man just evolved from micro-organisms. A sort-of off topic question. What will man evolve into?

I don't know...
Maybe man will become part of the earth and the cycle of life will start all over again.

Man will continue to become more capable of thought in the head as scientific advancement continues. This going on, I expect longer fingers and decreased amount of hair.

And that would help us how?

Well, if you noticed, the fingers have become more aligned, the hairline has receded to only a few areas on the body, and out mental capacity has increased.
Continue this and you get a tall hairless guy with long fingers.

Evolution is meant to occur in order to make a species better adapt to its environment. I still don't get how that's supposed to benefit us as humans.

Same... ...the question is, could bacteria survive such an impact as stated?

Yes it could. If small mammals could with the dino-asteroid, then bacteria certainly can for an 2012 one.

Bacteria is basically the super-species. It has survied through the origin of Earth to right here and right now.

On that account, you're quite right TDM, bacteria are some of our most numerous and important living things on Earth.
