The Room
- In the Room, you must design - a room.
- The room is to your specifications, and only to your specifications. However, one should not assume anything you did not state.
- Within the room, you must place an obstacle, from the basic (scaling a spiked wall) to the complex.
- You MUST leave a way for the obstacle to be passed.
- If the room requires any equipment at all, or any form of special abilitys or powers, you must state that the player has been provided with them.
- If there is something that you do not want the player to use, state so. For Example: "There is a gaping pit, but it is too wide for you to cross".
- Natural Earth physics in a 1 Gee enviroment will be presumed. If special physics apply to objects within, areas within, or the entirety of your room, you MUST mention so.
- Tip: Keep in mind things don't have to be "obvious". They just need to be there *wink wink*.
The Rules
You MUST design a room at the end of your post. You MUST solve the room at the end of the previous post, and place your full solution at the TOP of YOUR post.
Do not cheat. The guidelines are:
When attempting to solve the room:
- Pay close attention.
- You must obey the laws of the room's setup.
- You may use anything that was NOT mentioned to your advantage.
- You do NOT have ANY form of equipment or power - assume you have nothing with you of any usage. You may only use items or powers provided to you in the room, some of which may need to be found or acquired.
- Use your brain. Look for loopholes. Just because the author wanted you to go a way doesn't mean it is the only way.
Have Fun! Here is an example to start the game. Its very easy, so its more of a demonstration.
You enter the room. it is 20x10x30 Feet in size (Length by Width by Height) and there is a 10 foot wide gap to death in the center. You can not run and jump 10 feet. But there is a ladder to a platform over your head, and a rope seems to be hanging from the ceiling... you estimate it to be about 12 feet long.
(This is, like i said, an example. I expect your rooms to be complex puzzles truly requiring deep thought. And i will return with some deep thinking rooms of my own...)
Good luck!

I climb up to the platform, jump to the rope, and swing across.
You enter the room. it is 5x20x10 Feet in size (Length by Width by Height). The floor is one large conveyor belt that has the exit below it, but you cannot rip through using your hands or feet. The conveyor belt goes to the other side of the room, to a wall covered in spikes. The spikes are thin and long.
This one isn't really a hard one, really...

Simple. The conveyor belt is narrower than the pit in the floor. I jump off the side of the belt into the pit and go through the exit.
The entrance to the room is a hallway, which has an infared sensor wall. Upon passing through this wall, the 30,000 tons of Thermite laid across the floor will ignite :30 seconds after activated. It would take you 15 minutes to cross the room, minimum, and the thermite burns for two hours.
If the thermite does not kill you, the insulated panels covering every surface will amplify the heat of the thermite, which is 3 times that of molten lava, and you will be baked alive inside the room.
The thermite is only set off by the sensor system. nothing else will activate it. You have no tools or abilitys, but what can you do to stop the thermite from igniting? All the fuses to the thermite are hidden to you. just stop and think outside THE BOX.

I said the floor IS a conveyor belt, not that it has one in it...
Anyway, I step into the wall, then step back out. I wait for the two hours while the thermite burns, and when it in complete, I enter.
This room has spikes on all of the walls except one, and no ceiling. The walls are too high to jump over. They are, however, somewhat soft, although too thick to tunnel through. The spikes cannot support your weight.

Actually, that won't work. I said the amplified heat will bake you alive : P
Actually, the correct answer was to use the control panel to your right to turn off the sensor array.
Simple. The spikes are spikes. But they too are made out of foam. Makes sence if they cannot support my weight. So i just wade my way through a field of foam spikes...

Not once did you mention a control panel.
did you even read mine?
There are three walls covered in spikes, and another without them.
There are no spikes on the ground.
The spikes are also metal, just not attached to the wall well.

The ground does not count as a wall. And thats the point.
I didn't mention you couldn't deactivate the sensors. The point is you can use anything NOT mentioned to your advantage. : P

I never said the ground was a wall.
besides, that time I did say it had no spikes. Solve it.

i push down on the spikes in a form of a door, use a laser to cut through ( i didnt "dig" my way out ) and get out. you are stuck in a room filled with land mines. if so much as a feather touches them, the entire room will explode. behind you, is the door, but it is locked and can only be opened by the key on the other side ( no picking the lock!). there is however a peice of metal and rope. good luck, and it has something to do with m

I charge the matal using a convinient magnet, throw it on the other side with the rope tied to it. I walk through the door.
You are in a room that walls are coming inwards. There are no doors.

The one wall without spikes is a little unstable. I kick it down. You are in a room. it is 5x7x15 (width, height, length) You are at one end. there is a door at the other end. Between you and the door is a grid of death. The grid is 10 feet away from the door. The grid has openings 3x3 inches. anything that touches the grid is instantly destroyed. On the other side of the grid, beside the door, is a button to disable the grid. The grid does not go away without that button being pressed. On your side of the grid there is a thermostat that can magically make the room any temperature. The walls, ceiling, floor, and grid will withstand any amount of heat or cold and are un-breakable and immovable. There is also a table on your side of the grid. It contains five objects: A flower, a piece of paper, a straw, a kitten, some yarn, and a stamp with Queen Elizabeth's face on it. There is nothing else in the room. If you take off any article of clothing, you die.

I take the other door, which is on my side of the room.
You are in a solid concrete room with solid walls on all four sides, roof, and floor. There are no doors or windows. You don't have anything on you, nor do you have any powers.

I punch through the solid concrete wall because it was only 1/8 of an inch thick.
(Here's an easy one) The room is a force field. The field has one weak spot. it is 5x5mm. If you can get something through the field, you will be free. There is just you in the room. The force field extends underground, so you can't burrow under. There is no control panel. You have no abilities.
For those who are curious, I intended for my room to be escaped by: 1) turn thermostat to -80 degrees Fahrenheit. 2) spit. 3) Turn up the heat so you don't die. Keep it a balmy 32 degrees. 4) your spit is now a solid pellet of ice. use the straw to shoot the ice though the hole, hitting the button. 5) Go to the door, and realize that there was one on your side!

Hmm...
I pick up a nearby paperclip, fold it up properly, and poke it through the weak spot.

you didn't make a new room.
You are in a room. All ovr the room is a laser array that is impossible to escape. when it turns on, if you are still in the room, you will be hit. The door is open 50 feet away. unfortunatly, you won't be able to get to the door before the lasers turn on because they will turn on in 2 seconds. The walls and ceiling and floor are impermiable and un movable and un-breakable. there is nothing else in the room. just you and the air. you have no special abilities. There is noone with special abilities to help you. escape.

I die and respawn over by the door.
YOU are trapped in the same room, but instead of death, you get sent immediately to an inescapable stay in the nonja torture chamber, followed by cake death.

Your method is invalid. respawning is a special ability. Try again.

I walk to the exit. There are no penalties for getting hit by the lasers. You did not mention so. And since the rules say that thats right. I guess I solved it.
My room is 5 Foot Wide Hall Way. It has 5 foot walls. And a 2000 yards walking distance to the exit You cannot touch the walls. You may touch the floor though. YOu have to crunch into a ball to get thru. After 1 Hour The room explodes. There is two long chains tied to the ceiling. YOu can't grab it. But you can see em. Ones colered red. Ones colered blue. It seems that ones HOT and ones COLD. And that an explosive device is showed thru a plexiglass wall behind you. The floor is rubber. Scattered with chunks of it. If you crawl as fast as you can. YOu won't make it in time. Atleast to the exit. There are two Electrical Transformers behind you 20 feet. Between that and the plexiglass is another 20 feet. Between those two A and B points are two 3 foot in diameter pipes. Dripping from unusual condensation. The room is at a base tempature of 10 Degrees Farenheit. You will freeze to death in about 40 minutes. You notice along the floor are a few hard round sticks of wood. Handmade. 75% of all the wood is dripping wet. And the rest is dried. Since rubbing the wood planks together would not work. As the room will explode in one hour. Setting them on fire would be a good hint. (HINT) Another hint is. C4 is marked among the first 20 feet ahead of the 2 transformer. The C4 runs along the wall at small amounts. In a wire. . Setting ignition to the C4 within a 50 foot proximity would obviously kill you. The C4 near the generator Is exposed enough so you can reach it at the end.
How do you get out. Also note (Last Thing) The area around the room is filled with nitroglycerin. Thats why it explodes. An Explosion from inside the room won't blow it up. But several key points inside the area of C4 have bare nitroglyverin holes. That if the C4 Explodes. The entire building explodes.
The Key points also have rubber detecters near. So any rubber will instantly ignite a small Explosibe near the Nitro Tank. Exploding the building. Destroying the explosive device thru the plexiglass wil instantly stop the ignition time. How do you get out. This ones actually easy if you know how curcuits work. And electricity.
Since this is hard for all of you. I'ma gonna ease it up for you a bit. The temp. prevents you from knowing which pieces of wood are dried and which are wet. HINT. Also. The wet pieces of wood will obviously slip thru the Nitro Holes along the wire of C4. God I gave you guys like 3 HINTS. COME ON DANGIT
