I fourth it.
And then I eat a quarter of it.
Anyway, the bible says just as much weird, ignored stuff that would be considered unethical today (stuff like not eating fish on Tuesday) (Just an example, didn't come from the bible). So you can't base it off that. Ultimately, what it comes down to is the entire forum (or, the portion posting on this thread) versus TSL.

Plus the forum actually has some non-religious arguments at their side, other than "it's just wrong" or "the bible says so".

I have no problem with it. In Canada, homosexuals have equal rights for both genders, and it's not a problem if we see them around. The USA should follow our example and legalize it.

Fifty Dan-Balls says this conversation will, if it exceeds twenty five posts, degenerate into debate over religious views versus non-religious ones. Anyway, the bible says just as much weird, ignored stuff that would be considered unethical today (stuff like not eating fish on Tuesday) (Just an example, didn't come from the bible). ...Except it DID degrade into religion vs. non-religion. So I say YOU pay up.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure you said 25 pages.

Doesn't any else agree with my opinion? Like I said, just because one doesn't believe in legalizing gay marriage doesn't mean they're a hater...

Your opinion is based on religion, which has no basis in reality, and is, therefore, not applicable to this conversation.
I told ya, TSL. Pay up.

Yes, it DID degenerate. As I said it would. A bet you took. And I said Posts. Check my unedited post, and then give me my 50 Dan-Balls.

I took the bet as in it would degenerate... Not that it would not.
Now I'm confused!

Then you took the bet uninformed. It was quite clear, but you still submited to it.
Now give me my Dan-Balls, fool.

I can't believe, in all the time this forum has been around, there has never been a thread about this in the Serious Debate board... Discuss. Well, I'm just gonna have to stay out of this one, or i wont be liable if i start to mass flame the opposition.

Your opinion is based on religion, which has no basis in reality, and is, therefore, not applicable to this conversation. This is my new catchphrase. I'm going to use it all the time, regardless of if the matter involved has anything to do with religion. That being said, I still support homosexual marriage, as well as multi-spouse unions, so long as all parties involved give their consent to and have knowledge of each addition to the marriage.

Seriously, why can't gay people have the same rights as everyone else? You know what I really, really hate? How people try to turn this into an issue of "rights", when in reality, it's not. Look at it this way. In states where gay marriage is illegal: 1. A straight person has the right to marry someone of the opposite sex. 2. A gay person has the right to marry someone of the opposite sex. 3. A straight person does not have the right to marry someone of the same sex. 4. A gay person does not have the right to marry someone of the same sex. As you can see, straights and gays have exactly the same rights. Banning gay marriage does not take away rights from gays. It takes away rights from everyone. We're all still equal. So don't try and turn this into something it's not. You're kidding right? You know what I really, really hate? Those who believe that just because a gay person can marry someone of the opposite sex means that laws in the United States based off of religion are fair. 1. A straight person has the right to marry someone they love and/or are sexually attracted too. 2. A homosexual person does not have the right to marry someone they love and/or are sexually attracted too. Plus, I think VIROS has had the best point of all. It isn't hurting a soul to allow gay marriage, yet disallowing it hurts many. I would like to state right now, and obviously Qwerty and VIROS already are with me, that any rebuttals based off of Religious beliefs will have no credibility whatsoever in this debate. Most modern countries are generally meant not to be theocracies, and as much as they are on various levels, we are going to pretend they are not for the sake of this debate. Oh, and the whole "marriage is between a man and a woman" thing is a idiotic argument. Technically, the right to vote was only for rich white men, but that has been changed too, hasn't it? The definition itself was based off of what the bible says, and therefor once again holds no credibility in this debate. I shall put this in an analogy for you. Allowing only heterosexual marriage is like only letting white people vote. lol i guess i failed to stay out of this one :Px
